Academic Information: Admission Brochure for International Students Application(Academic Year 2016-2017)

How to Apply:
Key Dates for Submission:
  • Online application: 10:00 am, February 1 to 3:00 pm, April 14
  • Deadline for submission of application documents and fees payment: April 15
  • Application evaluation: May 5 to May 19
  • Announcement of application results and mailing of admission documents: June 2
  • Deadline for replying the Confirmation Letter of Registration: June 30
  • Final results sent to waitlisted applicants: July 6 to August 10
  • Check-in at FJU for admitted students: September 10 and 11

Fees and Payment:

  • Application fee: NT$1,600 (if paid at University) or US$65(if paid by overseas remittance). Any associated remittance fees are to be paid by the remitter. Once the application fee has been sent, it will not be refunded.
    ◎Candidates for phase II test in School of Medicine should pay extra NT$6,000 (if paid at University) or US$200(if paid by overseas remittance).
  • Payment: The application fee can be paid at the Cashier Section of the Office of General Affairs, on the first floor of the Cardinal Yu Ping Administration Building on campus. The applicant can come in person or send a third person that the applicant entrusts. The application fee can also be remitted to the university account. (The applicant’s name must be shown as the remitter on the remittance form even if the payment was not made by the applicant.)The university’s account information is below:

Check-in for admitted students:

  • Those who are admitted and have completed the procedure of replying Confirmation Letter of Registration should be present at the Division of Registration (Room YP209 on 2nd floor of Cardinal Yu Pin Administration Building), Office of Academic Affairs, to check in for registration on September 10 and 11, 2015. Applicants who fail to complete these procedures on time will be regarded as declining admission.
  • Documents required for check-in:
    (1) One photocopy of the certificate or diploma of the student’s highest academic degree. This photocopy must be authenticated by a Taiwan Overseas Mission. The student must also provide one photocopy of the degree after it has been authenticated (a notarized copy of the translation in Chinese or English is necessary if the original document is in a language other than Chinese or English).
    (2) One original copy of the transcripts for all academic years of the student's study. The original copy must be authenticated by a Taiwan Overseas Mission. The student must also provide one photocopy of the transcripts after they have been authenticated (a notarized copy of the translation in Chinese or English is necessary if the original document is in a language other than Chinese or English).
    ◎Pertaining to (1) and (2) above, if there are no Taiwan Overseas Missions in the student’s country to authenticate the diploma and transcripts, the student needs to apply to the academic institution from which he or she graduated for the required documents in English. They include: the duration of enrollment, the school’s legal state (whether the school is legally registered or not), and the applicant’s transcripts. Then, the applicant should have his or her former school directly mail the documents to The Division of Registration, Office of Academic Affairs, Fu Jen Catholic University.
    (3) Student’s passport and one photocopy.
  • Admitted students who do not obtain their academic certificates in time for check-in should fill out the Declaration and present all the required documents by September 30, 2015. Admissions will be revoked for those who fail to turn in the related documents on time.
  • Admitted students should be present for check-in first and their eligibility will be evaluated later. If anyone is found disqualified, his or her admission will be cancelled.
  • The forms and documents required to complete the registration process will be given by the International Student Center on the registration date.

Registration:

  • At the time of registration, admitted students should follow the Guidelines for New Student Registration. They should present proof of insurance, which includes both medical and personal accident coverage for a period of at least six months from the date of their arrival in Taiwan. The overseas proof of insurance should also be authenticated by the Taiwan Overseas Mission.
  • Retaining Admission: Admitted students who, for reasons such as illness, pregnancy, childbirth, taking care of children under 3 years old, or other exceptional circumstances, are not able to register at the beginning of the semester, can apply to retain their eligibility for admission. The admission extension is for one year. Only under special circumstances can the extension period be renewed for an additional year if applied for. New students applying to retain their admission at the Office of Academic Affairs should submit the acceptance letter as well as the written application before the course starting date specified on the calendar of Fu Jen; no fee is required.
  • For matters relating leaves of absence, duration of the term of study, graduation requirements, required credits and credit waivers, please check with the Division of Registration, Office of Academic Affairs or visit the website:http://www.academic.fju.edu.tw/edulaw.htm.
  • An international student submitting forged, fabricated, or altered papers for the purpose of Fu Jen application shall be subject to enrollment qualification cancellation; or a revocation of enrollment and denial to the request of any certificate pertaining to study, if the said student is already enrolled; or revocation of graduation qualifications and cancellation of the diploma by Fu Jen, if the said student has been already graduated.
  • Basic Chinese and English proficiency as well as basic information skills are required to fulfill graduation requirements in all FJU undergraduate programs.
