Course Selection & Registration Guideline
Bachelor’s program
1. German and English are sister languages and complement each other in terms of language learning.
2. Students have access to the shared cross-disciplinary resources of our twelve faculties.
3. After successful application, junior students can study and earn credits at our sister schools.
4. Our department offers a master's program where students can take prerequisite courses. Upon formal admission through regular enrollment procedures into the master's program, credits from these courses can be transferred, accelerating thesis writing and enabling students to obtain both bachelor's and master's degrees.
5. Students can apply for a range of scholarships and bursaries.
6. Graduates have a wide range of future career paths: Language education, international trade, cultural and creative industries, diplomatic services, tourism industry, etc.

Master’s program
1. Our master’s program is the first institute of the German language in Taiwan, and has a long history and outstanding reputation. For many years, graduate students have been assisting in the teaching of second foreign languages in high schools in Northern Taiwan, and this master’s program is the cradle for the cultivation of German teachers in Taiwan.
2. The program offers a variety of professional minors, including the five major fields of “Cultural Studies and Intercultural Communication Studies,” “Translation Studies”, “German Didactics”, “Modern Linguistics” and “Literature,” which combines theory and practice as well as humanities and communication studies, and cultivates the professionals of the German language in Taiwan.
3. Graduates are encouraged to pursue interdisciplinary studies or to study in Germany for master’s or doctoral courses and can receive credits, which can be counted in our master’s program.
