FJCU Preventive Measures with Regard to ln-person Classes from 4th October

Class and Manner of Teaching |
In accordance with the FJCU Office of Academic Affairs directives for Academic Year 2021 Semester 1 with regard to teaching arrangements for in-person classes (27th September 2021): |

Group Activities Outside of Class |
In accordance with the Level 2 alert level for New Taipei City, the limit is 80 people for indoor activities, 300 people for outdoor activities. If the number of people were to exceed these numbers, one must submit a proposal for preventive measures to be approved by the competent authorities. |

Admission Examinations |
For those taking in-person examinations, in accordance with an MOE directive issued on 2021 with regard to admission examinations and in reference to the 2021 Advanced Subjects Test, each examination hall shall have no more than 20 people, to ensure that candidates are at least 1.5m apart. A detailed plan with regard to preventive measures and things to note should be submitted for review by the Covid-19 committee for approval before it is carried out. |

School Health Monitoring |
Entry and exit from campus must comply with real-name registration, temperature taking, and wearing of masks. No outside visitors would be allowed to enter the campus. Office hours shall comply with the school’s calendar.

Controlled timings for vehicular access to campus: 24-hour access for Zhongzheng main gate, from 07:30 to 22:30 for Guizi back gate, no access for College of Art entrance. |

Environment and Sanitation Management |
Sanitation Frequency: 1.Classrooms: tables (at least once daily), e-lecture console buttons, microphones, classroom door handles (twice daily). 2.Restrooms: sink and door handles (thrice daily) 3.Stairway handrails (twice daily) 4.Elevator button panel (thrice daily) 5.Water dispenser button panel (thrice daily) |

Use of campus facilities |
1.Conference rooms are open for use only by departments in school, and are not open to outside users. Users should abide by the preventive measures. 2. School libraries would be opened from 4th October to 9th October, and subsequent opening hours are subject to changes in accordance with the pandemic situation:

Campus Eateries |
1.Entry into campus eateries and convenience stores will require real-name registration, and hand sanitization. We encourage all to take-away food. For dining-in, social distancing seating arrangements and dividers would be in place. Twice a day at morning and at night, the area, dividers, entrances, and cashier table would be sanitized. Key areas, seats, and areas often touched by hands would also be sanitized. 2. To comply with preventive measures, areas for consumption of food for students would be increased. From Monday to Friday, 1210 to 1315 (sanitization would take place from 1315 to 1340) classrooms located on the first floors of Ricci Hall (College of Management), School of Continuing Education, College of Liberal Arts, Liberal Enlightenment Hall (College of Education) which are not used for class would be available for students to consume food there. We encourage students to dine at these areas, observe social distancing, and keep to safety measures while dining. |

Campus Dormitories |
1. For all campus dormitories, there will only be one dedicated entrance/exit, and temperature taking, wearing of masks once outside of one’s room, and sanitization of hands must be observed. Non-residents are not allowed to enter the dormitory. 2.All communal areas in the dormitories, other than dining areas, will remain closed. These areas would be sanitized twice daily, once in the morning and once at night. 3.Through the Line application and the dormitory television, noticeboard, and student groups for each dormitory level, information on hygiene and sanitation would be disseminated. If residents have a fever or there is a suspected case, the issue would be handled in accordance with dormitory regulations with regard to Covid-19 measures. 4. Students who reside at dormitories are subjected to regulations from the Education Ministry and New Taipei City Tertiary Institutions Preventive Measures Pertaining to Dormitory Residence, and for the time being, are not required to do a PCR test. Residents moving into dorm would have separated check-in timings. Freshmen are allowed to be assisted by one parent, while returning students are not allowed to be accompanied by parents. Parents who enter the dormitory shall have to comply with temperature taking, and student luggage would be sanitized before being allowed into the dorm as per regulations. |

Travel Abroad for Teachers and Staff |
1.Travel abroad: all teachers and staff should first submit an application to their respective unit to travel abroad. The unit would then send the application to the Covid-19 committee for review, and upon successful application, the staff would apply for leave (leave management system, leave application and makeup class form for teachers, acting manager application form). 2. Entry to Taiwan: Teachers and staff should inform their respective unit, the Covid-19 task force, and the HR department about their arrival times, the location and time period for their quarantine accommodation and self-health management, and head to government-approved locations to complete their 14-day quarantine and 7-day self-health management. They are not allowed to enter the campus while serving their 14-day quarantine and 7-day self-health management. |

Students Applying for Leave During Pandemic Period |
If necessary, students must apply for leave from school and submit the relevant proof via the various communication channels, and authorize a person to handle the relevant administrative matters. 1.Absence or medical leave as a result of Covid-19 related issues would not be computed against the hours for missing class. 2.Students who are unable to take their mid-terms, finals, or graduating examinations would be able to take a makeup examination on a case-by-case basis. 3. Vaccination leave: Students must submit a photocopy of the Covid-19 Vaccination Record to the school in order to apply for vaccination leave. |

Self-health Management Following End of Home Quarantine |
1.Students are not allowed to enter the campus during their quarantine or self-health management period. They will take their registered classes via online remote learning. 2. If students feel unwell or develop symptoms during their quarantine or self-health management period, they should inform the school or call 1922. 3. The relevant departments, the Division of Sanitation, and the academic mentors of the respective department should monitor and keep up-to-date with the students’condition during the quarantine or self-health management period. |

Contingency Measures Pertaining to Reporting of Suspected or Confirmed Cases |
In accordance with the FJCU Regulations Governing Contraction of Fever or Symptoms Related to Covid-19 for Teachers, Staff, and Students passed by the Covid-19 Committee on 12th March 2020: 1.During office/schooling hours on campus, students should inform the teacher-in-charge of the class in particular, their department secretary, and inform the Division of Sanitation (02-2905-2995). Teachers and staff should inform their respective supervisors and the FJCU Environmental Protection, Health and Safety Center. 2. For students of the School of Continuing Education attending night classes or classes on the weekends, they should inform the teacher-in-charge of the class in particular, their department secretary, and the FJCU Campus Security Office (02-2905-2885). Dormitory residents should inform their dormitory managers and the FJCU Campus Security Office (02-2905-2885). |
